One of the objectives in the Finch business plan is to ensure our community is recognised for the progress we have made as a business, as well the impact on we have on risk management through our work with clients.
We are therefore thoroughly delighted to announce that we are finalists for two categories in the forthcoming Leicestershire Live 2020/2021 Business Awards.
The two categories we have been shortlisted for are: Company of the Year and Employer of the Year.
The Company of the Year Award celebrates businesses that have performed outstandingly throughout the year.
We were visited by judges representing category sponsor Janine Edwards Wealth Management who had previously read our written entry and visited “The Nest” to learn more about Finch and our ambitions.
The statement about this category says that the overall winner will:
“Stand out from the crowd and have developed a strong business presence with proof of achievements including strong market share, economic turn-around and innovative approach. Judges will be looking for a business that can be universally admired for their commercial practice and dedication to success.”
The second category in which we have been shortlisted is the employer of the year, which is arguably the most important as one of our key objectives is to “nurture brilliant people to balance risk”. This award is sponsored by The Growth Partners.
This is a statement about the company that will win this category:
“The company will have demonstrated strong investment in their employees as well having a reward scheme and other key employee benefits. It’s time to reward them, as they do their staff. They will be recognised as one of the best places to work in the area!”
This is the first time that Finch has entered any kind of award, but we recognise the many benefits that can be gained. We have always been quite focused on continuous improvement and investment in people and found the process of preparing the award submission enlightening and really motivating.
Commenting on the awards shortlist, Andrew Millington, Finance Director said. “Everyone in the Finch community has contributed to our success. Finch is now in a debt-free position with a record of strong profitability and cash flow, allowing for strategic growth underpinned by investment in its people, including recruitment, rewards, personal development and training, wellbeing, the working environment and the culture.”
He added “This investment is felt throughout the Finch Community, who wholly share the vision for the business. Their willingness to go the extra mile due to the culture created by investing in and caring for our people has been fundamental in Finch achieving its strategic goals and becoming the financially stable business it is today.”
The winners of all fifteen categories will be announced at the awards ceremony which is taking place at the Maher Centre in Leicester on Thursday 16th September 2021.
