Then of course, setting up the file on our systems which includes a CRM (customer relationship management) system, a document management system and a time/billing system.
We have a huge variety of offering here, which is just as well, as we also receive a huge variety of enquiry types! Needless to say, that sometimes a good pinch of humour doesn’t go amiss either with some of the complexities of our work. We have so many diverse and wonderful characters here, all special and brilliant in their own ways. Its what makes us Finch.
In terms of Expert Witness work, we deal with civil and criminal matters, personal injury, occupational hygiene, mechanical, commercial, electrical – I could reel off a very long list, but instead I’ll leave links to our brochures at the end of this article that better explain the breadth of what we do when it comes to people, process and plant.
Just to give you an example, on Monday I received an enquiry for a HAVS (hand arm vibration syndrome) claim, and later that day a criminal matter involving a fatal crushing in the workplace. On Tuesday, I passed on a claim for Asbestosis to my fellow expert witness support team member Liz, and I took an enquiry for a CDM (construction design management) matter and an Agricultural livestock matter. Later that week: a workplace transport fatality, a gas explosion, a packaging machine dispute, a zip-wire injury and an assault in the workplace.
In the same week my colleague, Jade, who sits next to me is busy conducting introductory ‘phone calls with potential candidates for our latest vacancy, and Steph and Eden are beavering away at the latest posts for LinkedIn and planning our role at the next conference, while Becky is processing payments into and out of the business and researching facilities providers. Glenis is typing up a dictation and report formatting and Rachael is assisting Janine with coordination of our consulting projects. A hive of activity and skill.
Finch is a thoroughly interesting place to work, being surrounded by such a wealth of knowledge. I really enjoy being a Finch and being a part of our community, and it’s nice to share a small flavour of it with you, so thank you if you’ve taken the time to read this article.
Please do call us if you’re wondering if we can help in any way, and please come and visit us at the Nest, we’d love to host you.
