Introduction to Machinery Safety
Reserve your place on Introduction to Machinery Safety
Your business relies on its machines and people to remain profitable. More importantly, the interaction of your people with your machines must be safe to ensure the levels of motivation and availability needed to maintain good productivity.
Our ‘Introduction to Machinery Safety’ course explains how CE and UKCA marking of machinery and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) work together, how they fit in the overall workplace safety landscape, and how organisations can assess and manage the risks associated with work equipment/machinery.
Is this course designed for me?
If you are a safety duty holder, a manager with responsibility for use or maintenance of machinery or someone tasked with maintaining (or making improvements or modifications) to machinery, then this course is designed for you.
What will I learn?
- Carry out machinery specific risk assessments, identify hazard types and prioritise solutions.
- Identify the main legislative requirements (UK regulations and EU Directives) associated with machinery.
- Explain how PUWER fits within the overall UK legislative framework and summarise its legal requirements.
- Choose appropriate EN standards for common machinery scenarios.
How will I be assessed?
We will assess your knowledge by considering your interaction during the sessions and a short written test at the end (nothing to worry about).
What will I get at the end?
When you’ve completed the course, we’ll send you a certificate of attendance and completion and an individual logon to Finch Academy giving access to additional materials. We will also send you regular updates on amendments to standards and legislation, and knowledge of Finch experts who might help you in the future.
