Bouncy Castle – Expert Opinion on applicability of health and safety legislation

Expert Opinion on applicability of health and safety legislation

A Finch expert was briefed to provide prosecution expert opinion for a manslaughter case involving a bouncy castle that left its moorings during an organised funfair.

The operators had used the castle outside its operating parameters at a time when other equipment on the fair had been taken out of service due to the high winds.

The advice to the court included opinion on the applicability of health and safety legislation, the operation and management of equipment in the leisure sector and regulator and European guidance.
