Morag McWilliam holds the Diploma of Professional Competence in Occupational Hygiene and is a Chartered Member of both the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene (CMFOH) and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH).

As capability lead for health and safety management, Morag works with the Finch Community to promote and strengthen our competencies and identify areas for business development and growth to deliver assurance to our clients and reassurance to their people.

She has over 30 years of practical experience in occupational hygiene and workplace health and safety, gathered through working in a diverse range of UK public and global private sector industries.

Morag has significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry where she worked at Corporate level. As well as establishing and maintaining occupational hygiene programmes at sites in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa regions (EMEA), she has also developed and implemented novel and potent compound handling programmes. She has been the subject matter expert for pre and post-acquisition, Corporate and regulatory compliance audits.

Morag was one of HM Specialist Inspectors in Occupational Hygiene for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). As a warranted inspector, she undertook regulatory and enforcement work and provided occupational hygiene support to colleagues in the wider HSE and other government departments. She co-authored web-based occupational hygiene guidance and contributed to the development of the silica ‘COSHH Essentials’ series. During the pandemic, she was part of HSE’s Market Surveillance Authority work and was a member of the PPE Technical Team.

Morag has been instructed as an expert witness in a wide range of hazardous substance exposure matters, including asbestos. She holds the Cardiff University Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificate (Civil Law).
